Lekoko Piniel Ole Levila, Tanzania
Lekoko Piniel Ole Levila (or Furaha, as he is popularly known in Swahili) is a journalist and writer by profession. He has been writing and reporting for local and international media for the past ten years. He has worked for the Zanzibar International Film Festival as Press Officer, Communication Officer and Marketing Officer from 2003-2006. Furaha is a founder member of Maa Media Center and holds a degree from The Mohamed Amin Foundation Training Center for Film & Television Production. Furaha currently works as a freelance filmmaker, director, and camera- and soundman.
Furaha will take part in a discussion on his documentary Mwalimu: The Legacy of Julius Kambarage Nyerere after the screening of the film on Wed 28 Oct.
